Alongside updating our boot image with our _amazing_ 4th Annual Impy Awards key art, we’re putting out a hotfix with this patch that addresses an issue related to Action Recorders and Timelines that caused a crash. Thanks to the folks that raised this with us!

Hello, Gliders! I’m Greg, Creative Director at Shedworks. The team and I are excited to finally get Sable into your hands on Playstation 5! It’s been a lot of hard work from the team and we think you’ll love some of the new features and content.
The mask is an exploration of identity. Everyone in Midden undertakes a ceremony called “The Gliding” as they reach adulthood, where they travel the world and try on many different masks until they finally find the one that suits them best. Their chosen mask is part of how they present themselves to the world. Will they choose to follow a particular craft or role in society? Or will they choose a mask that symbolises a rejection of convention?

La máscara es una expresión de la identidad. Todos en Midden cuando llegan a la adultez participan de una ceremonia que llaman “El planeo”, en la cual viajan por el mundo probándose varias máscaras hasta encontrar la que mejor les queda. In Season: A letter to the future, you play as a young woman from a secluded village exploring the world by bike for the first time, collecting memories before a cataclysm washes everything away. Your journey brings you to a strange valley where the seeds of the next Season have been planted. You meet the last remaining inhabitants the day just before they’re to be evacuated. In this last moment, you try to piece together the mysteries of the valley. Every conversation, every landscape, brings you closer to understanding: what is this Season and why is it ending?
What’s the story?
Most of the themes of “Season: A letter to the future” are expressions of the anxieties of our age. We’re heading towards a future we know will be worse than the present. As this becomes more certain, it has an attendant thought that feels even darker: These awful years are also the good times. The story exists to give some kind of poetic expression (poetic meaning barely under control, the subconscious has the wheel) to these thoughts and feelings, to defamiliarize them, tear them up and put them back together in a fantasy world. There is another major motif to the story as well: The five senses.

En Season: A letter to the future, juegas como una joven mujer de un pueblo remoto que explora por primera vez el mundo en bicicleta, reuniendo recuerdos antes de que un cataclismo lo barra todo. Tu viaje te lleva a un valle donde las semillas de la siguiente estación ya están plantadas. Te encuentras con los últimos habitantes justo un día antes de que deban evacuar. En estos últimos momentos, intentas desentrañar los misterios del valle. Cada conversación y paisaje te acerca más a entender bien qué es esta Season y por qué está terminando.
¿Por qué una historia así?
Muchos de los temas de “Season: A letter to the future”, expresan las ansiedades de nuestra época. Nos dirigimos a un futuro que sabemos será peor que el presente. A medida que esto se vuelve más evidente, nuestros sentidos nos dicen algo cada vez más siniestro: Estos terribles años también son los mejores. El propósito de la historia es entregar un tipo de expresión poética, en el sentido de que apenas tenemos el control, el subconsciente tiene el mando; para estos sentimientos e ideas, desfamiliarizarlos, destrozarlos y rearmarlos en un mundo fantástico. La historia también posee otro motivo: Los cinco sentidos.
